CAST Transportation and CAST Specialty Transportation announced today that changes have been made to their executive team.

CAST’s Chief Executive Officer, Richard Eshe, has appointed Richard DeFetyer as President of CAST. DeFeyter joined CAST overseeing operations, sales, safety, and maintenance in 2002. Over the last 20 years, he has concentrated on strategically growing CAST in many sectors, including the direction of nuclear energy.

DeFeyter’s daily challenges within a constantly moving and changing industry drive him. His focus on the growth and development of CAST and its people, while managing major contracts with government and private industries, keeps his days full.

“We have worked hard to keep CAST Specialty rated as a top carrier transporting transuranic waste for the Department of Energy. At the same time, CAST Transportation has been positioned to also perform in the nuclear arena across the nation, while maintaining successful transportation of industrial and construction materials within our local fleet,” said DeFeyter. “I am proud to have been a part of our development for the last 20 years and am honored to be named President of CAST.”

DeFeyter’s previous position of Executive Vice President is now held by Suzanne Kutsch. Kutsch has been with CAST for over 25 years, working virtually in every department. Her guidance within CAST has led to new policies and procedures being implemented to create a more streamlined and efficient process for drivers and staff.

“Transportation has changed so much over the past 25 years. Technological advances along with a changing workforce have motivated CAST to implement systems to improve safety, customer relations, and employee communications,” said Kutsch.

Both DeFeyter and Kutsch are active within the Colorado Motor Carriers Association, even serving as Chairman and on the Executive Committee.

The leadership at CAST Transportation has been instrumental in keeping their business ahead of the game and prevalent within the transportation industry for over 74 years.
